Wine description
Granite-Roots is a single-vineyard Old Bush-vine Chenin Blanc from Aprilskloof, on the northern side of the Paardeberg in the Swartland. The wine has a particularly personal connection to Albert Ahrens, reflecting the area where he began his winemaking journey in 2002. The Swartland’s warm and arid climate naturally brings concentration and depth, while the vineyard’s decomposed granite soils add elegance, perfume and freshness to the wine. The result is a beautifully layered Chenin Blanc that balances the richness and intensity of the Swartland with an expressive, aromatic character. Precise, textured and distinctive, Granite-Roots is a wine that combines depth with remarkable elegance.
