Wine description

Podere della Civettaja's owner Vincenzo Tommasi has been on several occasions in Burgundy, fascinated by the figure of Henri Jayer, before starting his production in Tuscany. This Pinot Noir is considered one of the greatest Italian interpretations of the international famous grape type.

Tasting Notes

Color: bright ruby red Scent: elegant and complex with nothes of wild berries, dried red flowers, red currant and rasberry, followed by balsamic herbs and licorice Taste: intense, rich, elegant with a long aromatic persistence. Acidity, minerality and tannin help the wine to be pleasant and balanced.

Vinification

Spontaneous fermentation with insigenous yeasts in open wooden and cocnrete vats.

Ageing

12 months in old barriques 10 months in concrete vats and at least 9 months in bottle.
