Wine description

The Merlot Skala by Paraschos winery is a robust and structured red wine from Collio Goriziano (Friuli Venezia Giulia), made with 90 years old Merlot grape vines, using old style methods.

Tasting Notes

Color: intense and bright ruby red. Scent: blackberries and blueberries notes with aromas of bitter cocoa and oriental spices, balsamic touches of fresh mint and details of cedar peel. Taste: intense with balsamic and cocoa tones, fresh, savory and mineral, with a long aromatic finish of wild berries.

Vinification

Fermentation lasts 30 days with the skins in open oak vat.

Ageing

Aging in big slavonian oak barrels or smaller french oak tonneaux and barriques for 5 years. Bottling by free fall with no filtration and no additives.
