Wine description

Savage White is one of the signature wines of the range, expressing Duncan Savage's philosophy of freshness, texture and site transparency. Depending on the vintage, the blend may combine Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Chenin Blanc, or focus on the traditional Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon combination. The grapes come from both trellised and bush-vine vineyards planted on sandstone and granite soils. Fermentation and ageing take place in a combination of barrels and larger casks, giving the wine texture and complexity without overwhelming its natural freshness. Bright citrus and delicate chamomile aromas lead into a textured, mineral palate with excellent balance and length. Elegant, restrained and highly age-worthy, Savage White is a compelling example of South African fine white wine.
