Wine description

Hometown is a single-vineyard Chenin Blanc made from exceptional old bush vines planted in 1979. The vineyard lies in Wellington, where quartz and iron-rich ferricrete, locally known as Koffieklip, bring both freshness and depth to the wine. The grapes are carefully harvested at different levels of ripeness, creating a natural balance between ripe Chenin Blanc fruit and vibrant acidity. Fermented and matured naturally in older French barrels, the wine develops layers of texture without losing its sense of place. Fresh, mineral and beautifully balanced, Hometown OVC combines ripe orchard fruit with subtle savoury notes, a firm mineral backbone and remarkable length.
