Wine description

Savage Red is a pure expression of Stellenbosch Syrah, sourced from organically farmed vineyards planted on decomposed granite soils. Originally conceived as a Syrah blend, the wine has evolved into a focused expression of the variety itself. It is the only Savage wine to spend two full years ageing at the winery: one year in 500-litre barrels followed by a second year in large foudre. This extended maturation brings depth and complexity while preserving the freshness and savoury character of the fruit. Black cherry, earth and cedar define the aromatic profile, leading to a structured yet elegant palate with excellent balance and length.
